Library News for November 1, 2012


Don't forget to change your clocks this weekend.  Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 4th at 2:00am.  Set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night and enjoy an extra hour!

Tuesday, November 6th is Election Day. 

The library is a polling place. 

Anyone registered to vote in Travis County can cast their ballot at the library between 7am and 7pm on November 6.

November 6th at 6:30: Conversational English

Want to work on your English language skills? Come to our Conversational English class! We’ll host discussions for you to work on your English in a relaxed, informal environment.

November 8th at 7pm: Potluck Mystery Book Club

Like mysteries?  Like baking?  Pick any book from the series, read it, and bring a treat to share.   We meet on the second Thursday of each month.

tiny tails to you

November 10th at 11am:  Tiny Tails to You

Storytelling and a tiny petting zoo, including bunnies, ducklings, and chinchillas. Space is very limited, registration is required.  Each child must have an adult to attend.


After-School Programs for kids ages 5+

Wednesdays at 4:30pm

  • 1st Wednesday - Brain Games - Fun and challenging board and video games.
  • 2nd Wednesday - Comic Club - Explore new comics, learn to draw, and do crafts.
  • 3rd Wednesday - Wacky Science - Hands-on, messy science experiments.
  • 4th Wednesday - LEGO Club - Free play with LEGOS and LEGO guides.

Are you a writer? Join the library’s new writing group! Every Saturday, come to the library to write and work in a quiet, supportive environment.  Light refreshments will be provided.

Have you tried our Mango Languages Database? This service is FREE to all Wells Branch Library patrons and teaches you, step-by-step, and of over 30 languages.  Want a head start?  Come to our workshop on November 7th at 6pm.
