Summer Reading Success

Summer Reading ended last weekend.   The hot summer months kept many of us indoors with a book in hand. 

Over one hundred adults participated in the program reading more than four hundred fifty books.

Fifty-four teens read 303 books.

Four hundred eighty kids read for 14,075 hours.

Click here to take our annual survey.  It takes about ten minutes to complete the fifteen questions.  We use the information to direct services and programs in the coming year. You can also complete a paper survey at the circulation desk.  

Can you help?

With summer coming to an end, many of our marvelous helpers are heading back to school.  That means we are short-handed for shelving volunteers, especially on weekdays.  If you can commit just two hours a week, the library needs your help.

Coming Soon:  Everyone Reads in Wells Branch:  Marley and Me: life and love with the world's worst dog by John Grogan Everyone reads is a new program at the library that encourages all patrons to read and discuss the same book.  We have copies for every reading level from preschool to adult.  Kick Off Party:  September 10th at 4pm.  Watch the movie (rated PG) starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson.  More information is available at the Marley Page
	Free Family Movies: Sundays at 4pm in the Storytime Room September 11:  Disney's The Fox and the Hound October 9:  Beethoven November 13th:  Homeward Bound
Computer Classes:  Registration is required at least 3 days in advance.  Space is limited. Computer Basics 8/20 One-on-One Tutoring 8/13 & 8/27 (by appointment)
	Wine, Women & Words Book Club: Join the most established reading group at the library.   September 18th at 7pm: Endings by Barbara Bergin
Crochet Workshop:  Sunday, August 21 at 1pm-  All you need is a willingness to try; the library will provide the rest.  We'll have hooks, yarn, and an instructor
	Needles Hooks and Books:  Sunday, September 11th at 2pm.  Bring your craft of choice and discuss  The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley October 9:  Frankenstein- Prodigal Son by Dean Koontz
