Board of Trustees

About the Trustees

Trustees meet at the library every 4-6 weeks. All meetings are posted and open to the public. The Board of Trustees is governed by a set of by-laws, which are reviewed annually.  Five trustees are elected for two-year terms to oversee the District. Trustees must live within District boundaries to serve.

Elections are held in November of each year.   Election information can be found here.

She is honored to serve on the library board and is committed to bringing her unique experiences to serve Well Branch.

Secretary:  Christine Bloemsma (2019-2021) | Email Christine
Christine is a seventh-generation Texan and twenty-four year Wells Branch Resident.  Some of her earliest memories are of going to the library in San Antonio.   She admits she’s been kicked out of more libraries than bars at closing time, though in her graduate school years, the count got close.  With a Bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology from Austin College and Master’s in English from Texas A&M University, Christine works at a hotel downtown and teaches at Austin Community College.  Christine’s connection to WBCL goes back to the early days of residents bringing boxes of book donations we hoped would “seed” our library to a storage room loaned by a church in the Bratton Square shopping center.  Christine’s best gift in recent memory was a Little Free Library her husband and daughter built for her to curate in their front yard!

Friends of the Library Liaison:  Jennifer Christmas (2020-2022) | Email Jennifer
