  • Jennifer Christmas:

A proud native Texan, Jennifer Christmas received her Bachelor's of Business from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas in 2004.  She worked in various marketing capacities for Ford Motor Company from 2005-2016 before "retiring" as the Global Consumer Experience Manager to be a full-time stay at home mom and return to Texas.  Her favorite role working for Ford Motor was serving as the South Florida Manager of the Ford Fund, Ford's non-profit arm, which provided grants for literacy and technology programs in public schools, address food scarcity in south Florida, and provide child abuse prevention programs in the community.  Working closely with local community leaders to improve the lives of others, especially children and teachers was the most cherished season of her career, and she hopes to continue that passion in Wells Branch. As parents of two young children, Jennifer and her husband Darrell Christmas enjoy volunteering at Wells Branch Elementary School and with Round Rock Women's Soccer league, where Jennifer was a volunteer Board member.  Working with the Wells Branch Library Board of Trustees would be a wonderful opportunity to give of her time and talents to a community she is blessed to call home.

Abbie grew up in libraries and remembers with pride her first little yellow library card. In college she worked the reserves/courtesy borrower desk in the UT PCL Library and then in grad school at the A.A.Hill Linguistics Library on campus at UT managing the desk, the collection, and cataloguing. She has been a volunteer at the Wells Branch Community Library and also at the JLJ Library since it opened. She’s been bringing her own children and nieces and nephews to the WBCL since they were born. Abbie and her husband Thierry have lived in the Austin area for more than 20 years and in Wells Branch for 13. They fell in love with this neighborhood which stands out for its beautiful library, parks, and incredible community. Both of Abbie’s brothers loved it as well and are now in the neighborhood with their families. The library is such an incredible part of our neighborhood, Abbie would like to put her years in many different libraries to good use and help support this important resource to make sure the library is able to continue to support our community, through all times of life.
