If you have a passion for serving your community and an interest in the ongoing development & improvement of the Wells Branch Community Library, consider running for the library's Board of Trustees in the November General Election!

3 places are up for election on the November 2020 ballot.

Candidates must:

  • Reside within the boundaries of the library district
  • Be registered to vote within the library district
    (If in doubt, check your voter registration certificate or contact the library)
  • Download the candidate application form below, or contact the library by phone, text, or email to obtain a paper copy.
  • Submit your notarized Ballot Application and Campaign Treasurer Appointment Form to the library by 8/17/2020 at 5pm
    • Contact the library to arrange a contact-free drop-off
    • Or place your application in a sealed envelope marked "Attention - Library Director" & place in the library's book drop (please call to confirm receipt)
    • Or mail your application to:

    • You can fax your completed, notarized paperwork to the library at (512) 989-3533.  (please call to confirm receipt)
    • You can scan in your completed, notarized paperwork and email it to director@wblibrary.org.  (please call to confirm receipt)

What do library board members do?

  • Serve 2-year terms
  • Conduct public meetings at the library approximately every 4-6 weeks
  • Oversee library services & staff
  • Develop & approve library policies
  • Plan for future growth & development of the library
  • Serve as an advocate for the library within the community
  • Trustee positions are unpaid and receive no special consideration in library services
