Test
Proctoring
Test proctoring,
a service offered by our library, is the oversight and administration by one
of our staff of a test or exam taken by a student at our facility for credit
at another institution, such as a university.
-
Most
institutions require that the same proctor administer all the tests for a
student during a given semester. Additionally, each patron’s situation and
the requirements of his/her institution will be unique. For these reasons,
the patron must commit to testing with the same staff member at every
session. This staff member is alone responsible for keeping information and
appointments regarding the test taker.
-
A manila file
is kept for each patron currently having tests proctored. This file includes
all relevant information for their proctoring, including correspondence from
the academic institution. This file is dated on their first appointment, and
is kept for three months. Due to employee turnover, it is the responsibility
of the test taker to verify that their proctor is still available.
-
A fee of
fifteen dollars is due for each test taken, at the time of its taking.
Patrons may be asked for reimbursement for costs to the library on account
of the proctoring when the costs are extraordinarily high (such as costs
from mailings, faxes, etc.).
