Finding Birds in the Austin Area

Discover the beauty of Austin nature through birdwatching! Austin’s unique location boasts a variety of habitats where you can find an abundance of bird life. This talk will highlight some of the best local spots, both urban and suburban, for finding both migratory and resident species. Tips & tricks for a successful and enjoyable birdwatching trip will be included.
About the Presenter: Cindy is a long-time Austin resident and Travis Audubon member. In 2006, she earned her MS in Wildlife Ecology based on a study of the impact of urban development on adjacent Golden-cheeked Warbler habitat. She has spent the last ten springs surveying Golden-cheeked Warblers in various locations throughout Central Texas. For the past 7 years, Cindy has worked as a seasonal biologist for the City of Austin's Balcones Canyonlands Preserve.
