Be heard and help direct the growth and development of your library!

We know you are busy, but your input is really necessary to shape the library and make it the kind of resource you want to continue to use.

The library needs community members to serve on committees with the staff and trustees.  Committees will gather information, express opinions and help generate ideas for programs, fundraising events, materials to purchase, and library policies.

Committees may meet monthly, quarterly, or seasonally. Only a few hours of your time may be requested.

 We also plan several focus groups for one time input.

Please contact a trustee or staff member if you would be willing to serve on any of the following committees or a sub-committees. Committees will begin forming immediately and meeting in March 2008.

•  Technology: computer use guidelines, website, purchases of hardware and software, netiquette issues, etc.

•  Personnel: staffing, team building, training, volunteers, benefits, library hours and services, memberships, etc.
   

•  Facilities: building maintenance, landscaping, meeting rooms, furnishings, etc.
   

• Public Relations: marketing, representation, trustee solicitation, volunteer solicitation, promotion of collection and services, Texshare issues, CTLS, TLA, ALA, elections, FOTL, etc.
   

• Programming: adults and children's programming promotion, planning, development, content, evaluation and criteria, library displays and special events, etc
   

• Finance: prepare and report on budget (including suggested adjustments), audit, grant solicitation and compliance, fundraisers, etc

• Collection: catalog, materials, inventory, etc
