The library has been actively
adding materials to all areas of the collection.

Between
January and October 2007 the library added 3621 items to
the collection.

We have purchased over 2500 NEW books from
patron requests and bestseller lists. That does not include the
beautiful donations we’ve received.

We bought 1262 for adults, 256 for teens, 998
new kids books, and 35 reference items.
-
We bought a new Encyclopedia Britannica to
replace the 10 year old one we had.
What
kinds of books were added this year?

We have
targeted the adult section and we’ve increased the collection by 602 fiction
books,
554
non-fiction books, 115 biographies, 18 short story collections, and 47 large
type books.

In the
teen area, we’ve added 105 graphic novels, 96 fiction titles, and 26
non-fiction books.

For
little kids, we’ve upped the collection by 295 picture books, 49 easy
readers and 57 board books.

Elementary students can enjoy another 264 fiction and 137 non-fiction
titles.

We’ve
added 40 reference books and 121 books in other languages as well.
It isn’t only books
that we’ve added in 2007.
